Hi guys. Today
we're proud to host a guest blog with Rival Gates, our
fantasy favorite. Rival tell us a bit about your latest book.
Thanks for having me on. My most recent book is called, “Mandrean Revenge.” It is the third book in the Sapphire Chronicles series. After returning from his quest with the Red Sapphire, Linvin Grithinshield is sought out again by the twisted Lord Mandrean. The evil ruler’s empire is on the verge of rebellion and Mandrean believes his people have lost faith in him as a direct result of his defeat at Linvin’s hands. To redeem their faith he kidnaps Linvin’s Uncle Anvar and threatens to execute him unless Linvin takes his place before the first frost.
Sounds intriguing. What made you decide to write fantasy? Why not
romance or mystery?
They say you never forget your first love and from the time I read “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” I loved Fantasy! You get to make your own world with your own rules. No one can tell you something’s impossible because you decide what is and is not possible in your world.
Wow. Kool. So of all your many characters who is your personal favorite and why?
I would have to say Necromancer is my favorite character to write. He may be pure evil but he hates everything including his master so he is constantly insulting him. Necromancer also has many plans. Some are revealed while others are kept secret. It makes him a blast to write.
Any plans for more of this series?

There are plans
for 6 more books with the next one (“Repercussions Abound”) due out later this
year.
Great. Can you see yourself starting any new writing projects?
Putting out the new book and publicizing it will keep me busy for some time before I can start on Book 5, “The Thief of Ravensburg”.
Good to know. What, in your opinion makes all the work of writing a
book worth it?
It is all worthwhile just to have one person read your book and say, “I loved it. What happens next?” That is the greatest compliment I can get.
